Meet Our Founder
Hi, I'm Dawn Lomelo, founder of Ponies for Patriots & Pint Size Therapy.
People often ask me how Ponies for Patriots began. The answer is simple, it started with my son, my faith, and a promise.
When my son graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2024 and began his journey of serving our country as a Navy officer, I experienced the same mix of pride, gratitude, and concern that so many military families know. As a proud Blue Star Mom, I prayed every day for God's protection over him.
In those prayers, I made a promise to God. I promised that if He watched over my son, I would dedicate my life to giving back to those who have served our country, currently serving and to others who could benefit from the healing power of horses.
That promise became Ponies for Patriots.
Meet the Men Behind the Founder
Ray, Dawn and Dylan
Ray the muscle behind Dawn's vision for Ponies for Patriots built the barn and the grounds where horses and the Veterans interact.
Dylan was Dawn inspiration for Ponies for Patriots by Proudly severing in America's Military.

Celebrating National Senior Citizen Day severing Sundaes to our senior friends. We were also touched by a donation made by the residents themselves.

Personalized service tailored to Our hero's recovery, healing and companionship. At Ponies for Patriots, we give that to veterans and active service members.
Our Pint Size Therapy Ponies also visit senior citizens at local hospice and senior living bringing love and smiles.
